U.S. military officials have confirmed that a second U.S. Air Force jet took enemy fire, but was not shot down.
This comes as the search for the second crew member of a downed F-15E Strike Eagle continues.
An A-10 Warthog attack caught “enemy fire” while a rescue operation for the U.S. crew member took place, a well-placed source told Fox News.
The New York Times earlier reported the aircraft was shot down and had crashed in the Persian Gulf and that its lone pilot was rescued.
This report was later found to be inaccourate.
