
The Midland RockHounds are off to a hot start in the 2026 Texas League season.
The Double-A affiliate of the Athletics, the team swept the Arkansas Travelers at home to start the season at 3-0.
The RockHounds opened the season with a 5-1 win against the ‘Travelers.
The Hounds scored single runs in the first and second innings, then got three insurance rans in the bottom of the fourth inning to put the game away.
Clark Elliott singled to score Leo De Vries in the first, then Shane McGuire doubled to score Ryan Lasko in the second.
Hunter Fitz-Gerald then singled for the Travelers to score Lazaro Montes in the top of the fiffth.
In the bottom of the fifth, Brayan Buelvas got the first home run for the RockHounds to make it 3-1 Hounds. Joshua Koruda-Grauer then doubled to score McGuire. A wild pitch then scored Koruda-Grauer.
The following night, the Travelers took a four-run lead into the bottom of the ninth, only to see the RockHounds walk it off with a 5-4 victory.
The Travelers got two runs in the top of the fourth with a two-run jack that by Jared Sundstrom that also scored Lazaro Montes.
In the top of the eighth, the Travelers got two solo shots and were cruising to a possible win.
However, the RockHounds had other ideas. DeVres would single to score Cameron Leary. Then, Tommy White would draw a bases-loaded walk to score McGuire. Buelvas would get another single to score Koruda-Grauer. Then, Elliott would single in the winning run with a two-run single that brought home DeVries and Coby Halter for the win.
The following night, the Hounds would go for the sweep, and would get it with a 4-2 win over the Travelers.
The Hounds took an early 3-1 lead with a run in the first and two runs in the second. Tommy White would single home Koruda-Grauer in the first, followed by two RBI doubles by Ryaln Lasko and Cole Conn that scored Clark Elliott and Lasko, respectively.
The Travelers would get two runs back in the fourth inning with a double by Montes that would score Sundstrom and a triple by Fitz-Gerald that would score Montes to make it 3-2.
However, Kuroda-Grauer would homer for the RockHounds in the 5th to make it 4-2 for rhe win.
