Murray, Ranking Democrat on Senate Appropriations Committee, To Look at Trump Iran War Funding Request

U.S. Sen. Patty Murray, Ranking Democrat on the Senate Appropriations Committee, today said that she will carefully review President Donald J. Trump’s request for supplemental funding for the War Department and the war with Iran.

Murray, D-Washington, called the war reckless and condemned it as a war of choice for the president. She noted that the president started the war without the consultation with, and approval of, Congress.

Murray said that her first priority was to look after the men and women who wear the uniform of the United States Armed Forces, but that the president was already sitting on billions of unspent funds from the One, Big, Beautiful Bill that was passed by the Republican-led House of Representatives and Senate months ago.
