Trump Accuses Major Oil Companies of Price Gouging American Consumers

President Donald J. Trump today accused major oil companies of price gouging American consumers and called for the Justice Department to investigate.

"The big Oil Companies are not dropping their price at the pump commensurate with the sharply lower prices they are paying for Oil. Those prices are dropping like a rock! In other words, customers are being 'gouged,'" Trump asserted in a Truth Social post.

"I have instructed the DOJ to immediately start looking into this. Gasoline prices better start going down a lot faster than what I’m seeing!" he declared.

Trump noted that the price at the pump, most states of which the price is above $3 a gallon, are the fault of the oil companies, who are charging more for gasoline even through the price for a barrel of oil has dropped significantly since the end of the war with Iran.
