Trump: Significant Progress in Iran Nuclear Program Talks

The United States and the Islamic Republic of Iran have made what mediators called significant progress in talks aimed at ending Iran’s nuclear weapons program.

The U.S. said that Iran is close to agreeing to nuclear site inspections from the International Atomic Energy Agemncy, the arm of the United Nations that works to develop peaceful use of atomic power and prevent nations who do not possess a nuclear weapon from attaining one.

President Donald J. Trump applauded the talks progress, but noted that there was still a long way to go before the final agreement could be reached.
