Republican Senate Meeting Explodes Over Trump Policy Fallout

Senate Republicans had a major meeting today that devolved into a shouting match between President Donald J. Trump and his own party members regarding the affordable housing bill and the Senate’s inability to pass voter ID and citizenship reforms.

Key Republicans called into question whether the Iran war actually met the objectives that the president laid out at the outset of the war. They noted that Trump promised that the war would be over within four weeks, and that it lasted four months.

Republicans were also angered because the president nixed the signing of an affordable housing bill that passed the House and Senate, but Trump refused to sign it because the Senate had failed to pass the SAVE America Act, which would have required citizenship and identification to vote in American elections.

Some of the Republicans who were at the meeting were already primaried out of office by Trump, who campaigned against many Senate Republicans for opposing his agenda.
