Wise County Woman Dead After Being Reported Missing a Month Ago

A Wise County woman who disappeared a month ago has been reported as having died, according to her family.

Morgan Williams, 30, disappeared after bonding out of the Parker County Jail last month.

She had struggled with substance abuse, according to her family, but they said that she would never disappear on her own accord.

The family said that they believed that, after she was released from jail, she traveled to the Fort Worth area.

Williams was released from Parker County Jail on May 15, according to family members. Her boyfriend, Christopher Walker, said she got a ride with a friend to Fort Worth, who she left her phone with.

Walker told relatives he was in rehabilitation at the time.

It's unknown at the time what the cause of Williams' death was.

Williams’ father, Larry Williams, said the details he has been given are not consistent.

“The stories are just not lining up, the timelines aren’t quite adding up — there’s something that’s missing there,” he said.

Williams described the situation as deeply alarming and said, “This is just a father who is saying something is truly amiss here.”

“It’s a sickening feeling in the pit of my stomach that just won’t go away,” Larry Williams said.

Her stepmother, Karen Simmons Williams, echoed those fears.

The Wise County Sheriff’s Office confirmed it is investigating the disappearance. According to the WCSOm the nissing person's report was filed with that agency only recently, after the case sat for weeks with the wrong jurisdiction.

The Fort Worth Police Department had initially received a missing person's report. However, detectives closed it after finding no evidence that Williams was in the city. They cited as a reason having received no eyewitness accounts placing her there.
