UN: Teams on the Ground in Venezuela Following Devastating Quake

The death toll in Venezuela continues to rise as more victims are pulled from a deadly earthquake that occurred yesterday.

United Nations and humanitarian personnel are on the ground in many parts of the country, as rescuers continue to search through the rubble of collapsed buildings in their search for survivors.

The UN has allocated about $15 million so far for rescue, recovery and relief efforts.

They have also deployed disaster assistance and relief teams to the country.

The UN said that up to 7 million people could be affected by the deadly quale, and that there could be a massive internal displacement caused by the quake and its aftermath.
